Setting the BIOS password
You can now set a BIOS password for the Access 3360 Appliance. It is recommended that you configure the BIOS password only through the supported Access Appliance interfaces. Supported methods include:
During cluster configuration
After cluster configuration using the admin passwd bios command
Configuring the BIOS password through these interfaces ensures consistent behavior across cluster nodes.
Considerations while setting the BIOS password:
For single‑node deployments, the BIOS password can also be set using the same supported interfaces.
If a single‑node system is later expanded into a cluster, you must run the admin passwd bios command and provide the existing BIOS password (configured on the first node) as both the old password and the new password to synchronize the BIOS password across the cluster.
The admin passwd bios command cannot set or change the BIOS password at the cluster level if the BIOS passwords on the two nodes are different and were configured externally using the IPMI Console menu options.
