Configuring a Veritas Data Deduplication storage unit on NetBackup
Veritas recommends limiting the total number of I/O streams to 80 per storage server. This limit on I/O streams is applicable to the combined total of duplication and replication jobs. You can configure Access Appliance such that multiple NetBackup domains can write concurrently to the same disk pool. Veritas recommends that you adjust the I/O streams for each NetBackup primary's storage server, and/or set the appropriate SLP windows so that the total I/O streams from all sources do not exceed 80 concurrent streams to and from a single Access storage server.
Note:
Since Access can be configured as both a duplication target and a replication target, allowing up to 80 I/O streams can be excessive when many concurrent jobs write to the storage server. If the Access disk pool/Veritas Data Deduplication instance becomes overloaded, the disk pool may become unstable. Veritas recommends that you reduce this limit to a lower value until the disk pool operates reliably.
