Connecting Access nodes to the network
This section provides information about connecting the network ports on both compute nodes to your network. Network ports on the rear panel of the compute node are shown in the following diagram:
Port | Purpose |
|---|---|
IPMI (copper/RJ45 connector) | A 1-GbE port that is used to connect to the Veritas Remote Management Interface. Best practices recommend that you use the IPMI port to establish remote access to the appliance. |
eth0/NIC1 (copper/RJ45 connector) | For laptop connection. The default IP address for this private network port is 192.168.229.233 The private network address for the eth0/NIC1 port is reserved to provide a direct connection from a laptop to perform the initial configuration. The default login credentials are: User name: admin Password: P@ssw0rd Labeled ETH0 on the node. |
eth1/NIC2 (copper/RJ45 connector) | Configured as an administrative network port that does not provide any backup data transfer. Use this port to access the Access Appliance Shell menu to perform the initial configuration. Labeled ETH1 on the node. |
priveth0 (eth2/NIC3) (copper/RJ45 connector) | You must use this port for connections between the two appliance compute nodes. Labeled ETH2 on the node. |
priveth1 (eth3/NIC4) (copper/RJ45 connector) | You must use this port for connections between the two appliance compute nodes. Labeled ETH3 on the node. |
