Backup limitations for Box data

The following items in the Box environment are not supported for backup:

  • Deleted files (in Trash)

    Note:

If a file and all its versions are in the trash, its content will not be backed up. However, if only some versions are in the trash while the file remains active, those versions will still be backed up.

  • Sharing permissions.

  • Comments on files.

  • Custom metadata for files, beyond basic information such as last modified date, size, and data owner.

  • Tasks.

  • Folder's and file's retention information.

  • Folder's and file's legal hold information.
