NetBackup™ Self Service Release Notes

New features and enhancements

  • Branding changes

As part of this release, the branding for NetBackup Self Service (NSS) is updated from Veritas to Cohesity. All product references, logos, and related materials are updated.

File paths and directories retain Veritas for compatibility and upgrade continuity.

Existing configuration and customization remains unaffected by this branding change.

  • Jquery upgrade

Jquery upgraded to 3.7.1, jquery ui upgraded to 1.14.1.

  • Support for Windows Server 2025

  • Workflow customization for machine registration and restore requests

The feature enables workflow customization for machine registration and restore requests initiated by tenant users within the NSS platform. This enhancement provides greater flexibility and administrative control over tenant-initiated actions.

    Key highlights

    • Feature Toggle Support: Ability to enable or disable the workflow customization with configuration settings.

    • Conditional UI Controls: Based on the configuration flag, the workflow UI and the Register Computer option are conditionally displayed to tenant users.

    • Approval Workflow for Registration: Tenants can initiate computer registration requests, which are routed to the administrator for approval.

    • Approval Workflow for Restore: Similarly, all tenant-initiated restore requests will go through an admin approval process.

    • Admin Actions: Administrators have the ability to either approve or deny registration and restore requests.

If approved, the machine is registered with NetBackup Self Service or the restore operation proceeds.

If denied, the request is rejected with appropriate status updated on the tenant screen.
