NetBackup™ Status Codes Reference Guide

NetBackup status code: 8755

Message: The certificate enrollment failed. The host name should be part of the certificate and it should be a primary name.

Explanation: The host name being used for enrolment is not part of the subject alternate name of the certificate. Also, the host name may be a host ID-to-host name mapping of this host or some other host. It should be the primary name of this host, which is same as the CLIENT_NAME defined in the NetBackup configuration file.

Recommended Action: Do one of the following:

  • Use the primary name of the host during certificate enrollment and ensure that the host name is part of the subject alternate name of the certificate.

  • Add or update (delete and then add) the subject name of the certificate in the NetBackup database. Use the nbcertcmd -deleteECACertEntry then the nbcertcmd -createECACertEntry commands. For more information on the commands, refer to the NetBackup Commands Reference Guide.
