NetBackup™ Status Codes Reference Guide

NetBackup status code: 8303

Message: The data-in-transit encryption attribute of the job cannot be updated.

Explanation: If the data-in-transit encryption is enabled for the operation, the data-in-transit attribute of the job cannot be updated to reflect the data-in-transit encryption status. As a result of this requirement, multiple NetBackup operations such as backup, restore, duplication, import, and others fail.

Recommended Action: Perform the following:

  1. Ensure that the bpjobd service is running on the primary server and there is connectivity between the media server and the primary server.

  2. Retry the operation and if the issue persists, visit support.veritas.com. The Cohesity Technical Support website offers additional information to help you troubleshoot this issue. If you do contact Cohesity Technical Support, you need to have the media server and the primary server logs available to help troubleshoot the issue.
