NetBackup™ for Kubernetes Administrator's Guide

Restore operation fails when restoring single VM to a different cluster

Error message: K8s restore data operation failed (2890).

Cause: The error occurs when restoring the virtual machine PVC to an alternate cluster having a different storage provisioner than the source. Even though the target and source data size is same, due to different storage provision, filesystem overhead occurs. In such case, the store might fail because there isn't enough memory allocated.

Note:

However, the above error is an exception in case of same storage provisioner, CephFs, and matching PVC size.

Resolution:

  • Use the same storage provisioner
