NetBackup™ for Cloud Object Store Administrator's Guide

Configuring NetBackup for object change tracking

This section explains the configuration required to enable object change tracking for NetBackup.

  • The primary server and backup host(s) must be of NetBackup version 11.1 or later.

  • The credentials configured in NetBackup for the Cloud object store account must have the required permissions to access both the source and log buckets. See Configuring access permissions for the buckets.

  • This feature is supported only when the NetBackup policy is configured with the Dynamic multi-streaming option.

  • Object change tracking does not support a scale out server as a backup host.

  • If you modify the object change tracking configuration, NetBackup verifies the updated settings. If the configuration is incompatible, the next backup fails. If the modified configuration is compatible, NetBackup performs a full bucket scan during the next backup to detect object changes. The subsequent backups use object change tracking.
