Prerequisites for Cloud Scale Technology upgrade

Before upgrading Cloud Scale deployment, ensure that:

  • NetBackup Cloud Scale does not depend on Kubernetes versions.

    For more information on upgrading the cluster hosting Cloud Scale, see the following section:

    See Upgrade the cluster.

  • Ensure that all the prerequisites mentioned in the Prerequisites chapter are met.

  • Ensure that catalog backup is done.

  • Take snapshots of persistent volumes.

  • Download the latest patch version.

  • Push the container images to registry.

    See Loading docker images.

  • Helm charts for operators and Postgres are available from a public or private registry.

  • Images for operators, and Cloud Scale services are available from a public or private registry.

Note:

During the upgrade process, ensure that the cluster nodes are not scaled down to 0 or restarted.

Health checker for pre-upgrade

Run pre‑upgrade health checks to identify compatibility or configuration issues before upgrading an existing Cloud Scale deployment (supported for Cloud Scale 10.5 and later).
