NetBackup™ for Microsoft SharePoint Server Administrator's Guide

Configuring the granular proxy host for Federated SharePoint configurations with VMware

For a VMware backup that protects Federated SharePoint configurations, you need to configure the back-end SQL Server as the granular restore proxy host for the catalog hosts (front-end servers in the farm). You can perform this configuration on the primary server or from the command line.

To specify the SharePoint granular restore proxy host

  1. On the primary server, open the NetBackup web UI.
  2. Expand Hosts > Host properties.
  3. Select the SharePoint client that you want to configure.
  4. If necessary, click Connect. Then click Edit client.
  5. Click Windows client > SharePoint.
  6. In the SharePoint granular restore proxy host box, type the name of the SQL Server back-end host.
  7. Click Save to save your changes.
  8. Repeat this configuration for all servers in the SharePoint farm.
