NetBackup™ for Microsoft SQL Server Administrator's Guide

Deactivate or activate a database

You can make a database that is part of an intelligent group inactive in NetBackup so it is excluded from a backup. For example, if the database is under maintenance. Note that when you use legacy (non-intelligent group) policies or batch files, NetBackup ignores the Database state and backs up both Active and Inactive databases.

To deactivate a database

  1. Select the Databases tab.
  2. Select the database that you want to deactivate.
  3. Select Deactivate.

To activate a database

  1. Select the Databases tab.
  2. Select the database that you want to activate.
  3. Select Activate.
