NetBackup™ for KVM Administrator's Guide

Add KVM hosts

To discover virtual machines in the KVM environment you must first add the KVM hosts to NetBackup.

To add a KVM host

  1. On the left, select Workloads > KVM, then select the Hosts tab.
  2. In the right pane, select Add.

NetBackup displays the Linux hosts where the NetBackup client is installed.

  3. In the Machine field, select the host from the list.
  4. Specify the credentials that you need to connect to the underlying Hypervisor on the KVM host.

Select one of the following the credential types:

    • Default - Select the default credential option and click Add.

NetBackup validates the KVM host and registers it.

    • Custom - Select the custom credential option to see the following options:

      • Select existing credential

      • Add a new credential

On the credentials UI page, specify the required credentials or add new credentials and save the information.
