NOTIFY_SNOOZE_PERIOD_IN_DAYS option for NetBackup servers

The NetBackup administrator may temporarily require certain files such as No.Restrictions or NOexpire to carry out specific tasks in the NetBackup domain.

You must remove such files after the required tasks are complete. If these files are not removed, notifications are generated and shown in the NetBackup web UI every 7 days.

You can use the NOTIFY_SNOOZE_PERIOD_IN_DAYS option to change the frequency of these notifications from the default value to any value from 1 to 90.

No.Restrictions file

The NetBackup administrator can allow clients to perform redirected restores. With the No.Restrictions file approach, all NetBackup clients can restore the backups that belong to other clients.

See Allowing all clients to perform redirected restores.

Caution:

For security reasons, it is strongly advised not to use the No.Restrictions file approach.

NOexpire file

The NetBackup administrator may require to use NOexpire file if automatic image expiration needs to be temporarily halted in ceratin scenarios, for example during maintenance window.

Caution:

For security reasons, it is strongly advised that you remove the NOexpire file from the primary server to resume automatic backup image expiration in the image database.
