NetBackup™ Clustered Primary Server Administrator's Guide

About NetBackup limitations with clustering solutions

The following general limitations exist for NetBackup in a cluster:

  • NetBackup does not support the conversion of an existing non-failover NetBackup primary server to a failover NetBackup primary server and vice versa. Contact Cohesity Technical Support.

  • All NetBackup nodes must be running the same operating system and NetBackup version.

  • NetBackup clustering does not support multiple primary servers in a single cluster.

  • NetBackup primary server clustering is supported on Windows as well as Linux platforms.

  • NetBackup primary server clustering has an active-passive configuration. NetBackup supports only the active-passive high availability (HA) clustering configuration.

  • For information on the supported cluster environments, see the NetBackup software compatibility list.

  • For limitations specific to NetBackup options, refer to the NetBackup Release Notes.

  • For limitations specific to Media Manager, refer to the NetBackup Administrator's Guide, Volume I.
