NetBackup™ Deduplication Guide

About Azure service principal support

Using Azure service principal you can authenticate Azure blob storage in a secure way without the exposure and automated renewal of the secret keys. NetBackup uses the provided storage account, client ID, tenant ID, and secret key to retrieve temporary credentials to access the cloud resources.

Note:

Service principal is not supported with FortKnox Azure. Also, switching between Azure service principal and other authentication type is not supported.

Note:

Using Azure service principal in MSDP Cloud deployments is not FIPS-compliant.
