Configure a universal share cluster

To configure a universal share cluster, you must first create a cluster and then mount the universal share cluster.

Create a universal share cluster

Prerequisite - Ensure that the TCP 10090 port is accessible between all the engines in the cluster.

Scenario 1: Direct data to a local disk storage

To direct data to a local storage

  1. Create a Media Server Deduplication Pool.

    See Configuring a storage server for a Media Server Deduplication Pool.

  2. Create a universal share.

    Select the type as Cluster.

Scenario 2: Direct data to a cloud bucket

To direct data to a cloud storage

  1. Direct universal share data to an object store.

    This step is only required for NetBackup Flex Scale.

  2. Create a universal share.

    Select the type as Cluster.
