Setting the NetBackup Deduplication Engine to accept jobs

After recovering the MSDP catalog from a backup, you may need to configure the NetBackup Deduplication Engine to accept jobs.

To set the NetBackup Deduplication Engine to accept jobs

  1. Start the NetBackup services on the storage serve.

    UNIX:/usr/openv/netbackup/bin/bp.start_all

    Windows:install_path\Program Files\Veritas\NetBackup\bin\bpup

  2. Set the NetBackup Deduplication Engine (spoold) to accept jobs, as follows:

    UNIX:

    /usr/openv/pdde/pdcr/bin/crcontrol - m GET=Yes

    /usr/openv/pdde/pdcr/bin/crcontrol - m PUT=Yes

    Windows:

    install_path\Veritas\pdde\crcontrol - m GET=Yes

    install_path>\Veritas\pdde\crcontrol - m PUT=Yes
