Adding an Enterprise Vault policy

This topic describes how to add an Enterprise Vault backup policy.

To add a new policy

  1. Open the NetBackup web UI and sign into the primary server.
  2. On the left, select Protection > Policies.
  3. Select the Add button.
  4. On the Attributes tab, do the following:
    • In the Policy name field, type a unique name for the policy.

    • From the Policy type list, select Enterprise-Vault.

      The Enterprise Vault database agent policy type displays if the primary server has a license for this database agent.

  5. Continue by adding additional policy information as follows:

    • Add schedules.

    • Add clients.

      See Adding a client to a policy.

    • Add Enterprise Vault directives to the backup selections list.

      See Creating a backup selections list.

  6. When you finish configuring the schedule, client, and backup selections, select the Create button.
