IT Analytics Report Reference Guide

Hitachi Vantara DP Pool Summary

IT Analytics allows to explore the data center using customizable report templates or by using parts of infrastructure as entry points.

Use Search to find reports, templates, and dashboards across the portal.

Use the Reports tab to examine the catalog of templates, dashboards, and reports which are organized by the products along with user-created, and system folders.

Navigate to Reports > Capacity Manager > Thin Provisioning Capacity & Utilization and then click Hitachi Vantara DP Pool Summary. Hitachi Vantara DP Pool Summary report is displayed.

The report displays the virtual volumes for data storage with actual capacity available. Use this report to ensure that the pool has sufficient free capacity, with percentage and ratio values.

Serial number of the storage array

Pool Type

Type of the pool.

Collection Time

Time (in GMT) when the data was collected from the storage system

Logical Capacity

Capacity of the pool

Used Logical Capacity

Amount of pool capacity actually being used (KB)

Used Logical Capacity in Percentage

Usage rate of the pool capacity

Available Physical Volume Capacity

Total amount of the physical capacity of the parity groups that make up the pool (KB)

Available Physical FMC Pool Volume Capacity

Total amount of used capacity in the physical capacity of the parity groups that make up the pool (KB)

Subscribed Capacity

Virtual capacity of all Dynamic Provisioning V- VOLs mapped to the pool (KB)

Subscription Percentage

Virtual capacity of all Dynamic Provisioning V- VOLs mapped to the pool (KB)

Threshold Rate

System threshold or depletion threshold set for the percentage of used pool space

Auto Expansion

Indicates whether to automatically add pool volumes according to the compression ratio of a parity group for which accelerated compression is enabled

Data Volumes Used Capacity

Capacity used by a virtual volume (KB)

Data Reduction Capacity

The capacity saved by capacity saving or accelerating the compression of the parity group (KB)

Data Reduction Ratio

Saving effect achieved by capacity saving or accelerating the compression of the parity group.

This is the value of N when the ratio of capacity before and after the reduction is N:1

Deduplication Capacity

Capacity saved by deduplication of capacity saving (KB)

Deduplication Ratio

Ratio of disk space that is saved through deduplication when using capacity saving.

This is the value of N when the ratio of capacity before and after the reduction is N:1

Compression Capacity

Capacity compressed by capacity saving (KB)

Compression Ratio

Ratio of disk space that is saved through compression when using capacity saving.

This is the value of N when the ratio of capacity before and after the reduction is N:1

Deduplication and Compression Capacity

Capacity reduced when deduplication and compression are used in a pool

Deduplication and Compression Ratio

Saving effect achieved by capacity saving.

This is the value of N when the ratio of capacity before and after the reduction is N:1

Pattern Matching

Capacity saved by reclaiming the specified data pattern using capacity saving (KB)1

System Data

The amount of consumed system data (KB)

Preprocessed Data

Capacity of data (before reduction) to be reduced by capacity saving (KB)

FMC Logical Total

The total logical capacity of the pool volume for FMC or the pool volume that supports accelerated compression used in the pool (KB)

FMC Logical Used

The logically used capacity of the pool volume for FMC or the pool volume that supports accelerated compression used in the pool (KB)

FMC Physical Total

The total physical capacity of the pool volume for FMC or the pool volume that supports accelerated compression used in the pool (KB)2

FMC Physical Used

The actually used capacity of the parity group for FMC or the parity group that supports accelerated compression (KB)

FMC Compression Capacity

The compressed capacity with the accelerated compression function (KB)

Demand

Displays the sum of free capacity of allocated DP volumes in a pool.

FMC Compression Ratio

Saving effect achieved by accelerated compression.

This is the value of N when the ratio of capacity before and after the reduction is N:1

FMC Pattern Matching

The reclaimed capacity with the accelerated compression function (KB)
