This report lists the Storage Lifecycle Policy (SLP) status for NetBackup jobs, which can be used as an overview of the health of the SLPs for each NetBackup Primary Server.

Using this report's completion statistics, you can determine if the SLP is performing according to schedule, if additional copies have been made, and also if the backlog is increasing. These statistics enable you to identify issues associated with the processing of SLPs.

Table: NetBackup SLP Status

Column name

Description

Primary Server

This is where the SLP is located. Click the link to drill down to the SLP Status by SLP report. This column lists all the primary servers that have associated SLPs. An SLP may be on the origin primary server or on any of the destination primary servers (in the case of duplication to a remote primary.

See NetBackup SLP Status by SLP .

Oldest Unfinished Image

The oldest image that is not SLP-complete for any SLP on the associated primary server. This represents the image end date and time, which can be used to identify possible SLP bottlenecks. The SLP state <> 3 (complete).

See NetBackup SLP Status by Image Copy .

# Clients

Total unique clients backed up by the SLP. If a client is backed up more than once by an SLP, the client is only counted once.

See NetBackup SLP Status by Client .

# Existing Images

The total number of images for SLPs on the associated primary server. This includes both SLP complete and incomplete images.

See NetBackup SLP Status by Image .

Images % SLP Complete

Percentage of images that are SLP complete on the primary server.

Images SLP Complete

Number of images that are SLP complete on the primary server.

See NetBackup SLP Status by Image .

Images Not SLP Complete

Number of images that are not SLP complete on the primary server.

See NetBackup SLP Status by Image .

# Expected Copies

Total number of image copies for SLPs on the primary includes both complete and incomplete copies.

% Copy Complete

Percentage of completed copies for SLPs on the selected primary server.

This value represents the total for all copies for all SLPs. Total Expected Size for all copies = (Number of copies for SLPs) * (backup copy size for all SLPs)

Note:

The total expected size for all copies is a front-end size and is derived from the number of copies multiplied by the size of the backup copy. The effects of deduplication, compression, or optimized deduplication on the total expected size are not considered in the SLP reports.

Completed Copy Size %

Percentage of completed copy size for SLPs on the selected primary server. The Completed Copy Size is a front-end size. The effects of deduplication, compression, or optimized deduplication on completed copy size are not considered in the SLP reports.

Completed Copy Size

Aggregate size of all the completed copies in the database for the SLP and the specific SLP destination. This value is calculated as: (Completed Copy Count for the specific SLP) x (Size of backup copy for the specific SLP).
