VM Datastore Overview

For a view of relevant VMware datastore information, go to the Inventory and select Datastores or individual datastores in the default hierarchy view (object type and subsystem). Once in the Inventory, the Overview tab presents several reports in dashboard format.

Inventory > Default Hierarchy View > Datastores > Overview Tab

The following reports are listed, prefaced by a VM Datastore Overview for the time period.

Table: VM Datastore Overview

Column name

Description

Datastore

The number of datastores in the selected scope. If a single datastore is selected, the name of the datastore is displayed.

Capacity

The total capacity of the datastores, in the selected scope and time period.

# VM Servers

The number of VM servers, in the selected scope and time period. To access additional details, click the link to view the VM Server Summary.

Used

The amount of datastore storage that is in use.

Free

The amount of datastore storage that is available.

Capacity Usage

Capacity Usage = Used/Capacity.

# VM Guests

The number of VM guests associated with the datastores, in the selected scope and time period. To access additional details, click the link to view the VM Summary.

Powered On

The number of VMs that are powered on, in the selected scope and time period. To access additional details, click the link to view the VM Summary.
