NetBackup Deduplication to MSDP Savings Dashboard
This dashboard provides a single pane of glass to view deduplication savings by:
Primary Server
Policy Type
Clients
In addition, it also provides the trending data about the deduplication savings, as well as pre- and post-deduplication analytics in the same view.
You can quickly identify areas that need further improvements to obtain better deduplication savings. You can also compare the savings trends before and after making improvements, such as removing frequently changing files, compressed files (that typically account for bad deduplication ratios) from the backups before sending backups to MSDP.
This dashboard comprises of the following reports:
This report provides a view of deduplication savings for each primary server. You can use this report to focus on the primary servers not providing optimal deduplication in your environment.
NetBackup Deduplication to MSDP Savings - By Primary Servers
This report provides a view of clients that are receiving poor deduplication savings in your environment. You can sort the Deduplication Savings % column in ascending order to filter the clients receiving least deduplication savings at the top. You can investigate such clients to improve their deduplication savings.
NetBackup Deduplication to MSDP Savings - By Clients
This report provides a view of deduplication savings for each policy type. You can use this report to detect the policy types failing provide optimal deduplication.
You can view the deduplication trend in your environment to evaluate the impact of any improvements you make towards increasing the deduplication ratios.
NetBackup Deduplication to MSDP Savings Trend Over Time
You can compare the deduplication sizes of pre- and post backups performed using NetBackup. You can a view the historical trend that allows you to compare the total number of bytes that exist in all the backups performed through NetBackup
You can view the historical trend and compare the total bytes that exist on all backups before and after deduplication for the specified time period.
