NetBackup Non-Host Certificates

There are a number of services certificates that may expire causing risk to the backup environment. This report shows all non-host certificates at risk and includes server name, type certificates, size, issuer, owner, and date of expiration.

To view the report, navigate to Backup Manager > Administration Reports > NetBackup Non-host Certificates.

This generated report is based on clients of Backup Server(s). Select one or more clients in the Report Scope to filter the report data.

Currently, the following parameters are available in the Report Scope dialog box.

Host Group

The report can be generated for one or more Host Groups.

For more details on the Report Scope dialog box, see IT Analytics User Guide > Generate and maintain reports > Report Scope section.

All Hosts

This report can be generated for all the Backup Hosts or any of its sub-set.

 

For Host = All Backup Servers

One or more Backup Servers can be selected from the scope to run the report for all clients corresponding to the Backup Server.

For example: Click Modify.

Expand Hosts > All Backup Servers > Primary Servers (if any) > Policies or Clients.

Select any node.

Servers = All Data Domain Servers

Not valid for this report.

 

Attributes

This report can be filtered on specific Host Attributes associated with the Backup Host(s).

 

Note:

If multiple conditions are selected in the Report Scope, IT Analytics displays collective data with the selected criteria from the database using the AND condition.

Based on the parameters selected in the Report Scope, the following are the scenarios in which the data for the report will be displayed .

  • Scenario 1 - All Hosts: If any one Host is selected from parent All Hosts, the data is displayed for the selected Host in the node.

  • Scenario 2 - All-Client-Backup-Server-Host-Group: You have a host group named as All-Client-Backup-Server-Host-Groupwhich is the parent node. Further, this All-Client-Backup-Server-Host-Groupnode has Two Backup Servers asServer1andServer2. If you have selectedAll-Client-Backup-Server-Host-Group, which is the parent node, then the data in the report will be displayed for theclients of Server1 and Server2.

  • Scenario 3 - All Backup Servers:

    • If All Backup Server node is selected, the data is displayed of the clients.

    • If any one or more than one Clients from All Backup Server node is selected, the data is displayed of the selected Client(s).

    • If any one or more than one Policies from All Backup Server node is selected, the data is displayed of the selected Policy(s).

  • Scenario 4 - Attributes: If any one or more than one Attributes is selected from the Report Scope dialog box, the data is displayed of all Backup Hosts for the selected Attribute.

  • Scenario 5 All Data Domain: This is invalid selection as this report is generated only based on Backup Host(s).

Primary Server

Name of the primary server hosting the certificates.

Alias Name

The user-assigned alias name.

Creation Date

Certificate creation date.

Type

Certificate type.

Chain Length

Number of certificates in the non-host certificate chain.

Owner

Certificate owner.

Issuer

Name of the entity that has issued the certificate.

Serial number

Serial number of the certificate.

Valid From

The date from which the certificate was deemed valid.

Valid Until

The date after which the certificate will expire.

Version

Certificate version.

Days left

Number of days remaining for certificate expiry.

Keystore

The name of the keystore where the certificates are stored.
