Capacity Manager > Array Capacity & Utilization > Array Capacity & Utilization

The Array Capacity & Utilization report provides an overview of storage array capacity and utilization. Use this report to identify storage arrays that are under utilized or highly utilized.

The Array Capacity & Utilization report represents Hitachi Vantara All-Flash and Hybrid Flash Storage in the following manner:

Table: Array Capacity & Utilization (Hitachi Vantara All-Flash and Hybrid Flash Storage view)

Column name

Description

Array/Cluster Summary

Array Name

The name that you assigned to the array. Available values include all supported storage devices. For a list of supported devices, see the Certified Configurations Guide.

Serial #:

Serial number of the cluster.

IP Address

IP address of the flash storage.

Model

The specific model of the storage array.

Vendor

The name of the vendor that distributes the storage array.

Product

The name of the product, typically shown as a series number. This field provides an indicator of capacity specifications, such as LUNs, hosts per array, and drives per array.

Last Poll Time

The date and time of the last successful data collection cycle.

Firmware Version

Current firmware version of the array.

# FC Ports

The number of FC ports in the array. Click the value to view the Array Port Utilization.

# iSCSI Ports

Number of iSCSI ports. Click the link to drill down to the Array iSCSI Port Utilization report.

# Disks

The number of disks in the array. Click the value to view the Disk Summary report.

# Hosts

This is the total number of unique hosts that have LUNs assigned by this storage array, and the hosts have been successfully queried using one or more host resource policies. If zero, host resources data has not been collected.

See Host Capacity & Utilization .

Cache

Cache size of the array. Values are stored as TiB in the database and rendered according to your user profile preferences.

Host Usage

See LUN Utilization Summary .

Physical Summary

Raw Capacity

For HDS arrays: Sum of capacity of all PDEVs from all array groups. When calculating raw capacity for HDS arrays, the data collector makes requests to the Device Manager for physical devices (PDEVs) for all Array Groups in a storage array. The data collector assumes that all PDEVs are part of an array group, so PDEVs that are marked as not included in an array group (-1) are included in the capacity calculation. That is, no disks are treated as spares.

Allocated

Total of all of disk capacities (physical storage).

Available

Total raw capacity of the array that has not been allocated. The size is displayed in the units you selected with the Advanced option when you generated the report.

% Available

Expressed as a percentage, total capacity of the LUNs in the array that have not been assigned to a host and that are available for provisioning. This percentage is a better capacity indicator than the number shown as Available Size.

# Array Groups

Number of Array Groups. Links to List Array Groups report.

Pool Summary

# Pools

The number of dynamic provisioning pools links to the Dynamic Provisioning Pool Summary

Total Capacity

The total capacity for the volumes/LUNs.

Used Capacity

Amount of internal RAID group capacity allocated to LUNs.

Available Capacity

Amount of available capacity in RAID groups from which to allocate LUNs.

# Resv Vols/LUNs

The number of LUNs that are reserved on the array. Click the link to view the LUN Utilization Summary.

# Resv Vols/LUN Capacity

Capacity of the reserved LUNs that cannot be assigned to the hosts. For example, dynamic pool capacity.

Volume/LUN Summary

# Vols/LUNs

The number of LUNs that have been created on the array. Click the link to view the LUN Utilization Summary.

Total Vol/LUN Capacity

The total capacity for the volumes/LUNs.

# Allocated Vols/LUNs

The number of volumes/LUNs on the array that have been mapped to a host. These LUNs are typically configured as volumes on the host and dedicated to an application. Click the link to view the LUN Summary.

Alloc Vol/LUN Capacity

The total storage capacity for the allocated LUNs.

# UnAllocated Vols/LUNs

The number of LUNs that have yet to be allocated. Click the link to view the LUN Summary.

UnAlloc Vol/LUN Capacity

The available LUN capacity.
