About Transport Layer Security (TLS)

Transport Layer Security (TLS) is a security protocol designed to enable privacy and data security over the internet. It provides privacy (confidentiality), integrity, and authenticity through cryptography, such as using certificates to authenticate the communication between two or more communicating computer applications. TLS runs in the presentation layer and is made up of two layers:

  • TLS record
