Moving Hyper-V virtualization servers to another IMS
The Infrastructure Management Server (IMS) discovers Hyper-V servers and the associated virtual machines. If the IMS that discovers the Hyper-V server is unusable, you can move the Hyper-V server to another IMS.
To move Hyper-V virtualization servers to another IMS
- Navigate
Settings (menu bar) > Infrastructure > Details View
You can also access Manage Asset Infrastructure from the Quick Actions menu.
- Expand the data center > Virtualization and Private Cloud > Hyper-V tab
- On the row for the Hyper-V server that you want to move to another IMS, select the vertical ellipsis > Move Hyper-V Server.
- In the Move Hyper-V Server panel, enter the IP address of the server, the user name, and the password. Select the IMS from the drop-down list.
- Click Next to verify the details and then Submit.
- Use Recent Activities (bottom pane) > Details to verify that the operation is successfully completed. In case the operation fails, you need to rerun the operation and ensure that you select the same target IMS.
The old entries for Hyper-V server are displayed until the unusable IMS is removed.
