Managing risks
Risk is generated due to components or assets being removed from the setup or they are unavailable due to network issues, password change or if they are unreachable. The components or the assets in Veritas Resiliency Platform are divided into two categories:
Addressable
Operational
Addressable assets are:
ESXi server
Replication appliances
Enclosures
VMware clusters
NetBackup Copy Primary
Operational assets are:
vCenter server
Infrastructure Management Server
Risk insight feature alerts you when components or assets in the environment are affected in the following manner:
Components or objects are not reachable.
For example: IMS server gets disconnected due to network issues and it is not reachable.
Components or objects are not available and are removed from the environment.
For example: A vCenter server is not available due to the password change activity for that vCenter server is pending.
There are risks in the environment where the components or assets are either not reachable or not available. You cannot probe the risks which are generated by deleting the assets or components, but you can suppress them indefinitely.
You can probe and suppress the risks that are generated by disconnecting the object or components. These risks can be suppressed for specified period.
To probe a risk

You can also access this page from:
Assets > Resiliency Group(s) right-click the desired resiliency group and select Details.
Assets > Virtual Business Service(s) right-click the desired VBS and select Details.
- Do one of the following:
Right-click on the risk and select the Probe Risk option.
You can also probe the risk by selecting the Probe Risk option on the vertical ellipses.
- Click Next.
To suppress a risk
- Navigate

Assets > Resiliency Group(s) right-click the desired resiliency group and select Details.
Assets > Virtual Business Service(s) right-click the desired VBS and select Details.
- Do one of the following:
Right-click on the risk and select Suppress Risk option.
You can also suppress the risk by selecting the Suppress Risk option on the vertical ellipses.
- Click Next.
If the resiliency group is at risk due to some component or assets is unavailable from the configuration, a risk is raised. Based on which data center the resiliency group is located, following disaster recovery (DR) operations are blocked.
