Support for NetBackup Instant Access to recover a resiliency group
When creating or editing a Resiliency Group, you can choose to use the NetBackup Instant Access (IA) feature to rehearse and recover assets that are part of the resiliency group. NetBackup Instant Access is used to recover a virtual machine almost instantly, without waiting to transfer the virtual machine's data from the backup. NetBackup starts the virtual machine directly from the backup image and makes it accessible to users on the target ESX host immediately.
NetBackup Instant Access can be used to do the following from Resiliency Platform:
Rehearsal/Test of Resiliency Groups and Virtual Business Services.
Recovery of Resiliency Groups and Virtual Business Services.
Note that using Instant Access as a recovery option is not possible in following scenarios. You can select full recover, in such scenarios.
If backup storage does not have IA capability. IA works with specific models of NBU appliances.
If enough slots are not available on the ESX server to create additional NFS data stores.
If all the IA requirements are not satisfied on the NetBackup Primary. E.g. IA requires certain packages be installed on the BYO Primary.

Using the NetBackup Instant Access feature for rehearsal or recovery of assets provides the following benefits:
Significant reduction in the recovery time objective during rehearsal
Zero storage overhead storage usage for test workload instances
Ability to achieve almost instant startup of test workload instances
