Recovering virtual machines with multiple recovery points
Using Resiliency Platform console, you can recover virtual machines configured using multiple recovery points service objective.
To perform recover operation on virtual machines with multiple recovery points
- Navigate:
Assets (navigation pane) >> Resiliency Group(s) tab.
- Double-click the resiliency group to view the details page. Click Recover.
- Do the following:
Select the target data center.
If you select remote data center as target data center, select the Confirm outage of assets checkbox and click Next.
On the Recovery Points panel:
a. If the selected target data center is local data center, resiliency group is recovered locally using NetBackup (Copy) path. Select the images for the virtual machines to recover locally.
b. If the selected target data center is remote data center, select the Data Mover Technology from the dropdown
If Replicated Data (Resiliency Platform Data Mover) option is selected, and CDP is enabled for that resiliency group, provide recovery points and proceed.
If Backup Images (NetBackup) option is selected, then select recovery images for virtual machines. They can be either be from the latest image or within specified time range.
Note:
Delete replication disks checkbox should be selected if you have selected same target datastore while creating resiliency group for recovery using Replication and/or Copy path and the selected datastore has insufficient storage to recover.
Select the recovery points.
- Click Submit.
Note:
When creating a resiliency group, you should not select NetBackup CDP protected virtual machines. If the corresponding NetBackup primary server is configured in Resiliency Platform, it displays an error message. When Resiliency Platform does not have visibility of the primary server, the NetBackup CDP configuration cannot be detected and configuring the replication for such virtual machines can cause the NetBackup CDP replication policy to be detached from the virtual machine.
