What's New - Features, enhancements, and changes
System Health Insights offers a unified, SaaS-based platform that helps manage your data protection solution through its complete life cycle.
A new 'DataCollect' section is introduced in the appliance dashboard under the Support tab. From this section, you can:
View a summary of DataCollect uploads, including collection status, last uploaded timestamp, and file size.
Browse up to two months of historical DataCollect records through an intuitive bubble chart that visualizes uploads by type - Periodic, Full, or Conditional.
Trigger DataCollect directly from this tab.
Prerequisite
To use the DataCollect trigger feature, ensure that permissions for non-update management operations are enabled for the appliance.
Supported appliance families and versions:
NetBackup Appliance running version 5.5.0.1 or later
Flex Appliance running version 6.0 or later
Note:
Access and NBFS appliances are not supported for self-service DataCollect trigger.
Once triggered, DataCollect uploads may take anywhere from 30 minutes up to 3 hours to complete. You can verify whether the upload was successful by checking the upload summary or the bubble chart on this tab.
System Health Insights now requires Quorum approval for any change in the Secure Quorum Configuration - not limiting to Access Key generation, providing an additional layer of security. Below is the list of all enhancements included in this release:
MPA/Quorum Approval for Secure Quorum Config Changes - Any modification to the Secure Quorum configuration (such as expiry settings, requestor/approver updates, or Security Admin additions/removals) now requires Multi-Party Authorization (MPA) approval. A minimum of 2 and a maximum of 5 admins must be maintained at all times.
Configurable Request Expiry Time - A configurable expiration duration for requests is now available per team, defaulting to 24 hours.
Export & Quorum Operations Dashboard - You can now filter and export the full history of Quorum operations, including Access Key generation requests.
Note:
Concurrent MPA configuration change requests are not permitted. If an Access Key Generation request is raised while an MPA configuration change is pending, the configuration change will be automatically cancelled and the Quorum will be notified.
Get Started: If you have not yet enabled the Secure Quorum feature, now is a great time to get started. Look for informational banners on the landing page and Team Management pages, which will guide you through the self-service onboarding process.
System Health Insights now maps appliance events to their associated Cohesity Support case numbers if an AutoSupport/callhome case is created, providing end-to-end visibility from the initial event trigger to active case tracking - all within a single view.
Prerequisites
This feature is available for callhome-enabled appliances only.
The appliance must have an active Cohesity Support contract.
Warning:
AutoSupport/callhome cases may not be created if the appliance is not associated with a valid contact. Please ensure your appliance is registered in SHI to continue receiving AutoSupport/callhome services without interruption.
Capacity utilization forecasting is now available in a dedicated column in the appliance list, giving you a comprehensive at-a-glance view of predicted utilization across your entire install base over the next three months.
Note:
To generate predictions, your appliance must have been actively calling home for at least 6 months, ensuring sufficient historical data for accurate forecasting.
System Health Insights automatically detects anomalies in appliance performance metrics. When an anomaly is detected, the affected performance metric is highlighted in red in the appliance performance view, making deviations immediately visible. Detection is powered by ML-based models trained on appliance telemetry.
AutoSupport Call Home endpoints have transitioned from the veritas.com domain to the cohesity.com domain for specific appliance platforms and software versions.
Customer action required If your environment uses firewalls, proxies, or outbound allowlists, allow HTTPS access to: *.appliance.cohesity.com
Affected platforms
NetBackup Flex appliances running software 7.0 or later
Access appliances running software 8.6 or later
NetBackup Flex Scale appliances running software 3.5.100 or later
Not affected
All other appliance platforms and software versions continue to use the veritas.com domain.
There is no change to AutoSupport functionality or the data collected.
