Adding or replacing storage
Note the following important information about the storage shelves and drives for the Cohesity 53x2 Appliances.
The procedure to add storage shelves to the Cohesity 53x2 Appliances is different than the other hardware models. The nodes and the existing storage shelves must be on when you add the new shelves.

If you need to replace a self-encrypting drive (SED), make sure that you adhere to the following requirements:
The appliance must be powered on.
The drive must not be locked.
To check the status of the drives, run the show hardware-health primaryshelf component=disk command in the Flex Appliance Shell. Make sure that the status is either Unsecured or Secured, Unlocked.
