Installing the appliance into the rack
Use the following procedure to install the rack rails and mount the appliance into the racks. Ensure that the best practices for installing the rack rails are followed.
Warning:
The left and right rails differ from each other. Do not exchange their inner rails. Keep the ball bearing shuttle locked at the front of the middle rail during installation.
Caution:
DO NOT add any weight upon the system when chassis slide rail is installed.

To install the rack rails
- Release the inner rail from the outer rail.
Extend the inner rail until it stops.
Press the release lever on the inner rail to remove it.
- Attach the inner rail to the chassis.
Press the release rail against the chassis.
Lift the clip (A) and slide the inner rail toward the chassis rear (B).
- Attach the outer rail to the rack
Lift lever, aim the rack mount pin to the rack post and push forward.
Lift lever, aim the rack mount pin to the rack post and push back.
Install bolt and U bracket in round /screw rack.
To install the appliance into the rack
- Mount the appliance into the rack.
- Be sure the ball bearing retainer is locked forward.
- Pull the middle rail out of the outer rail until locked.
- Push the appliance into the rack.
To remove the appliance from the rack
- Remove the slide rail.
- Press release button to detach outer rail to detach the outer rails from the rack.
- Pull the rail forward and press the release button to detach rail.
- Lift the appliance out.
