Network sizing and subnet configuration

When installing NetBackup Snapshot Manager for Cloud, specify the subnet by using the --subnet4 parameter or by setting the following values in the flexsnap.conf file:

The subnet CIDR must provide enough IP addresses to support the maximum number of concurrent jobs for the deployment.

To calculate the required subnet size:

buffer = ceil(max(2048, 0.2 × RAM in MB) / 1024)

max_jobs = value configured in flexsnap.conf
            OR
           min((RAM in GB - buffer), CPU × 5)

Required IPs = (2 × max_jobs) + 14 + 16

Where:

Choose a subnet whose usable IP addresses are greater than or equal to the calculated required IPs value.
