Configure neighbor cache thresholds
For environments that manage a large number of network endpoints or container networking interfaces, configure the IPv4 and IPv6 neighbor cache thresholds on the NetBackup Snapshot Manager host to ensure sufficient neighbor table capacity.
Create or update a sysctl configuration file, such as: /etc/sysctl.d/99-neighbor-cache.conf
Add the following entries to the created file:
net.ipv4.neigh.default.gc_thresh1 = 128 net.ipv4.neigh.default.gc_thresh2 = 512 net.ipv4.neigh.default.gc_thresh3 = 1024 net.ipv6.neigh.default.gc_thresh1 = 128 net.ipv6.neigh.default.gc_thresh2 = 512 net.ipv6.neigh.default.gc_thresh3 = 1024
Apply the changes using the sysctl --system command without restarting the host.
Note:
Configure the neighbor cache thresholds before installing NetBackup Snapshot Managerfor Cloud, especially in environments with a large number of network endpoints or containerized workloads.
