Creating custom configurations
Before conversion, you can create a custom client configuration to tailor the VM conversion. Two types of custom configurations are available:
Copy a configuration: Copy an existing client configuration to customize it before conversion. You can adjust RAM size, CPU units, disk assignments, and network settings. Mark disks as restricted to exclude them from VM creation. Do not restrict OS disks, as the VM will not boot without them.
Point-in-time (PIT) configuration: Retrieve a configuration from a specific backup image to create a VM from a particular point in time. You can also retrieve and copy a PIT configuration using the NetBackup web UI.
To create a custom configuration, click the menu next to the client in the VM conversion clients list and select . In the dialog, select or as the operation type, then complete the remaining fields.
