Post-conversion steps for Windows Clients
After a successful VM conversion for a Windows client, manually deploy the Certificate Authority (CA) certificate and the host ID-based certificate on the restored client.
To deploy host ID-based certificates manually
- Obtain the authorization token from the CA administrator. The token may be provided by email, file, or verbally.
- Run the following command on the restored client to trust the primary server::
nbcertcmd -getCACertificate
- Run the following command on the restored client and enter the token when prompted:
nbcertcmd -getCertificate -token
Note:
To communicate with multiple NetBackup domains, use the -server option to request a certificate from each primary server.
If the token was provided as a file, enter the following:
nbcertcmd -getCertificate -file authorization_token_file
- To verify that the certificate is deployed on the host, run the following command:
nbcertcmd -listCertDetails
Use the
-clusteroption to display cluster certificates.
For more information, refer to the Deploying host ID-based certificates section in the NetBackup Security and Encryption Guide.
