NetBackup™ Deduplication Guide

Configuring the targeted AIR with an MVG volume

MSDP volume group supports targeted AIR only. The legacy untargeted AIR is not supported.

You must set up secure communication on the MSDP servers that are used by an MVG volume. These MSDP servers connect to the target MVG volumes or MSDP servers for the data replication.

Before configuring the replication targets on NetBackup web UI, run the following commands on those MSDP servers and the MVG server.

nbcertcmd -getCACertificate -server <target-primary-server>

nbcertcmd -getCertificate -server <target-primary-server> -token <auth-token>

Configuring replication targets with MSDP volume group is the same as regular MSDP.

See About NetBackup Auto Image Replication.
