NetBackup™ Deduplication Guide

Migrate a backup policy from an MVG volume to a regular MSDP disk volume

It is recommended to change to the MSDP disk volume that is most recently used by an MVG volume for the policy. You can find the information on the Notification webpage on NetBackup web UI. To find the information by using the MSDP command-line, run the following command:

cacontrol --cluster get-cp-assignment <dsid-of-mvg-volume> <client> <policy>

You can also find the information in the job details of the recent backup jobs.

Migrate the backup policies gradually overtime to reduce any potential impact.
