NetBackup™ Deduplication Guide

Viewing the NetBackup RBAC roles assigned to the MSDP container

The MSDP container requires the Any MSDP Container role to successfully call NetBackup APIs. Sometimes, a user may miss adding the required MSDP_SERVER entry to the NetBackup primary server configuration, or the entry may have been removed from the configuration.

In such cases, it can be difficult to troubleshoot and resolve the issue quickly. A new restricted shell command lets you quickly determine if the correct NetBackup RBAC roles have been assigned to the MSDP container.

To view the NetBackup RBAC roles assigned to the MSDP container:

  1. Run the following command:

    setting certificate show-nb-web-token-roles

  2. Check the output for the text: Any MSDP Container.

If this text does not appear, it indicates that the MSDP_SERVER entry is missing from the NetBackup primary server configuration and must be added.
