NetBackup™ Deduplication Guide

Determining the catalog backup for recovery

In most cases, the backup images to use for the recovery are the most recent Full and all subsequent Incremental deduplication catalog backups.

If you need to select a different set of backups, use the manual recovery method, which allows you to specify a date range that contains the desired backup images. Refer to the NetBackup Bare Metal Restore Administrator's Guide, NetBackup Web UI Administrator's Guide, or the bprestore command in the NetBackup Commands Reference Guide.

You must choose an MSDP catalog backup image that was created from the current deduplication storage server. Catalog images from a different deduplication storage server cannot be used for recovery.
