NetBackup™ Deduplication Guide

Checking MSDP data integrity manually

When you recover the MSDP catalog from a backup, you must check the integrity of the MSDP data. The data integrity process also resolves any data integrity issues.

To check MSDP data integrity

  1. Run the following command to check the integrity of the MSDP data:

    UNIX:/usr/openv/pdde/pdcr/bin/pddecfg - a startdatafullcheck

    Windows: install_path\Veritas\pdde\pddecfg - a startdatafullcheck

  2. When the following command lists Busy as No, the data integrity check has been completed.

    UNIX:/usr/openv/pdde/pdcr/bin/pddecfg -a getdataintegritycheck

    Windows:install_path\Veritas\pdde\pddecfg -a getdataintegritycheck

  3. Open the data integrity check log file in a text editor.

    UNIX:/storage_path/log/spad/OnlineCheck.log

    Windows:storage_path\log\spad\OnlineCheck.log

  4. Examine the log file for a message similar to the following that corresponds to the date and time that you invoked the command in step 1:

Finished sending Data Check POs for data selection[2], cursor=

If the line exists, continue to the next step.

  5. Run the following command to check if any data container corruption issues exist:

    UNIX:/usr/openv/netbackup/bin/admincmd/bperror -disk

    Windows:install_path/Veritas\NetBackup\bin\admincmd\bperror -disk
