EMC Symmetrix Thin Pool Detail

Detail reports are related to a specific enterprise object, such as a backup job. You can only access detail reports through a link presented in the context of a main report, providing additional information that augments the main report. Detail reports cannot be generated, customized, or saved, as they are specific to the report from which they were derived. They are not available in search results.

Explore your data center using IT Analytics customizable report templates or by using parts of your IT infrastructure as entry points. Use Search to find reports, templates and dashboards across the portal.

Use the Reports tab to examine the IT Analytics catalog of templates, dashboards and reports - organized by products along with user-created, and system folders. The main report is located here:

Pool Name

The name of the storage pool links to EMC Symmetrix Thin Pool Detail.

Storage Array

The array associated with the storage pool.

Dev Emulation

Symmetrix drives can emulate standard disk drives, such as IBM, CKD, DASD, or FBA (Fixed Block Architecture) volumes.

RAID Type

RAID type.

# of Thin Devices

The number of thin devices that are used to provision storage to a host as the storage is needed.

# of Enabled Thin Devices

The number of thin devices in this pool that are enabled.

# of Data Devices

The number of data devices that are providing the actual physical storage to the thin devices.

# of Enabled Data Devices

The number of the data devices that are enabled.

# of Hosts

The number of hosts using this pool.

Pool Capacity

The total capacity of the pool.

Pool Used

The physical capacity that is assigned to all LUNs in the storage pool. From the array's perspective, consumed capacity is the same as allocated capacity.

Available Capacity

Pool Capacity minus Pool Used.

Subscribed Capacity

The physical capacity that has been given to hosts/applications; this is from the host's perspective.

% Subscribed

Percentage of the pool capacity that has been presented to hosts/applications.

Oversubscribed

The amount of storage that has been given to hosts, but that exceeds the amount of physical storage.

Total Thin Devices

Symmetrix Device

The name of the array and drive.

Total

Total amount of thin-provisioned storage on this device.

Used

Amount of provisioned storage that is in use.

Free

Amount of provisioned storage that is available.

% Used

Percentage of provisioned storage that is in use.

Device State

Device state at last data collection.

Host

Host that is using the storage.

Total Data Devices

Symmetrix Device

The name of the array and drive.

State

State of the drive.

Total

Total amount of physical storage on the drive.

Used

Total amount of storage that is in use.

Available

Amount of storage that is available.

% Usage

Percentage of storage on this device that is in use.
