Overview

Tabular Reports can be configured to alert users via a number of options:

  • Email

  • Script

  • SNMP

  • Native log

  • Syslog

Typically, notifications are expected when a report's content indicates a threshold crossing or an error state. For example, a Job Summary report can be configured to trigger an alert when failed backup events are reported.

Note:

To receive SNMP traps and native logs from IT Analytics, the recipient system must be able to connect to the IT Analytics Portal. This is applicable to on premise and SaaS-based Solutions of IT Analytics. For SaaS-based solutions like Alta, ensure that Alta Reports can connect to the SNMP server or the native log server via public IP, secured VPN, or any another appropriate network channel and required ports are open. It is highly recommended to configure appropriate networking security measures when opening a internal system to internet.
