Install Oracle 19c Windows July 2026 Quarterly patch
To ensure the Oracle 19c database on Windows contains all the current security updates, Oracle provides quarterly patches that must be installed on your system.
Note:
If the IT Analytics portal fails to start after applying the Oracle July 2026 Release Update (19.32.0.0), see KB article: 000040776.
The Oracle July 2026 Release Update introduces changes that are incompatible with ITA portal versions released before June 2026. The required compatibility fixes are delivered in ITA portal releases 11.7.2606 and 11.8.2606.
Recommendations and Solution
Preventive upgrade order
To avoid the issue, follow this sequence during your maintenance window:
Upgrade the ITA portal to 11.7.2606 or later, or 11.8.2606 or later. These versions are planned for release in early June 2026, and the Oracle patch will be made available on the Cohesity downloads page only after a compatible ITA version has been released.
Verify ITA portal functionality after the upgrade is completed.
Confirm rollback options are in place, such as validated snapshots or backups, before applying the Oracle patch.
Apply the Oracle July 2026 (19.32.00) patch only after the portal upgrade has been completed and verified.
Note:
Applying the Oracle patch before completing the portal upgrade is not supported and may result in extended downtime.
Recovery if the Oracle Patch was already applied
If the Oracle July 2026 patch has already been applied and the portal is impacted, recovery requires one of the following:
Upgrade the ITA portal to 11.7.2606 or 11.8.2606 (or later), or
Roll back (or restore) the ITA portal to a previously working version and then upgrade to a compatible version.

Note:

If you experience issues or your IT Analytics portal is not working after this process, compare results with the expected outputs and follow your reversion plan (such as reverting a snapshot or restoring your database) to restore portal functionality.
It is recommended to take a cold backup of the IT Analytics database prior to any significant upgrade or change to the application. This offline cold backup means you physically copy or back up the Oracle database data files to another location. This cold backup simplifies the restore process in the event of an unanticipated issue. With a cold backup, you restore the files and then import the most recent database export.

Access the command prompt as an Administrator.
Ensure path variables are set properly with the following commands.

You can verify that all IT Analytics services are stopped by checking the Services control panel. If services are still running, the patch installation will not be successful and will cause issues.

The IT Analytics portal is now patched and running. You should be able to log in, verify operations, and run reports. To verify Oracle is patched correctly, run the IT Analytics System Health Check report and verify the following entries in the Oracle Patch History section of the report.
