About Rehearse operation
Before you can perform a rehearse operation, make sure to map the production network with the rehearsal network in the target data center. The rehearsal network simulates the production network environment so that the tests of the application and workload on the rehearsal network represent a realistic scenario, without hampering any of the production functionality or client connections.
Note:
Rehearsal subnet should be configured such that it is isolated from the production network.
During disaster recovery rehearsal, Resiliency Platform creates a snapshot of the replicated virtual machines in the target data center. As required Resiliency Platform creates equivalent volumes and instantiates a virtual machine using the snapshot or volumes. Resiliency Platform ensures that the virtual machine is brought up in the rehearsal network based on the specified network mapping. At any point in time, only one rehearse operation is allowed for a resiliency group.
When you are satisfied with the testing of the simulated failover to the target data center, use the rehearsal cleanup operation to clean up the rehearsal virtual machines in the resiliency group. The cleanup operation deletes all of the temporary objects that were created during the rehearsal. You must run the Cleanup rehearsal operation before performing the migrate or recover operation.
