Migrating virtual machines to different availability zones of AWS
If the recovery data center is Amazon Web Services (AWS), then using multiple Replication Gateway pairs you can migrate virtual machines to different Availability Zones. Follow the steps listed below.
Migrating virtual machines to different availability zones of AWS
- Deploy and configure Replication Gateways in different availability zones.
- Add the Replication Gateways.
- Pair the Replication Gateways.
- While configuring the virtual machines for recovery to AWS, do the following:
Select the Replication Gateway pairs that are created in step 2.
Ensure that the gateway pairs belong to the same mode, either Direct or Object Store.
Map the virtual machines to the availability zones. The availability zones that are available for selection depend on the Replication Gateway pairs that you have selected.

When you perform the migrate operation, the virtual machines are created in the availability zones which were selected in step 4. Similarly in case of recover operation.
